Dixie Roadhouse in Cape Coral Sold for $2.7M - Upgrades Planned for Popular South Cape Nightclub
A major change is coming to Cape Coral’s nightlife scene: Dixie Roadhouse, one of South Cape’s most popular clubs, has been sold for $2.7 million. But fans of the line dancing, concerts, and late-night fun can breathe easy. The new owners promise to keep the Dixie spirit alive while adding some exciting upgrades.
Who Bought Dixie Roadhouse?
Bob and Anita Taft, club owners from Naperville, Illinois, finalized the purchase on September 17, 2025. They also bought the two-story building housing Dixie for an additional $5 million.
The Tafts, along with minority owner Mike McCaffery, plan to keep the club’s name and signature atmosphere, while investing in improvements that will make it “a little bigger, a little better.”
Planned Upgrades for Dixie Roadhouse
The new owners are wasting no time, with construction set to start immediately on a new patio area. By early 2026, they hope to add a rooftop bar overlooking the South Cape entertainment district.
Other updates include:
State-of-the-art video walls
Enhanced stage lighting
Expanded rentals for weddings, parties, and corporate events
And for longtime Dixie fans, there’s more good news: the Tafts are considering bringing back big-name touring acts, something the club became famous for before the pandemic. Past performers included Blake Shelton, Creed’s Scott Stapp, and punk legends Misfits.
A Legacy Handed Over
David Townsend and Lynn Pippenger, who opened Dixie Roadhouse in 2011, are officially retiring but will help with the 30-day transition. They say they’re leaving the club in good hands.
“This property can be so much more,” Townsend said earlier this year. “I think the Tafts are the best people to take it forward.”
What’s Next for Dixie Roadhouse?
The Tafts plan to split their time between Illinois and Cape Coral but hope to make a permanent move within the next six months. In the meantime, they’ll begin work on the new upgrades, with locals likely to see changes starting in early 2026.
Final Thoughts
With new ownership, new features, and the same iconic line-dancing energy, Dixie Roadhouse’s next chapter looks brighter than ever. Whether you’re a longtime Cape Coral local or just visiting, this nightclub remains a staple of Southwest Florida’s nightlife.
